To celebrate the first birthday of Fairfax ‘Building Young Futures’ two forest school summer holiday weeks were staged in Mid-Sussex and Horley.

The national press would say that for some families the school holidays can be a difficult time but for these youngsters it was a life changer!
In the beautiful back drops of Blunts Wood in Cuckfield and Honeycrock Farm, Salfords students prepared their own lunches, enjoyed afternoon ice cream and left each evening with a goody bag. Commemorative clothing gave the groups a real sense of identity whilst enjoying a weeks instruction on camp craft.
The laughter and joy was in evidence every day! Feedback from the youngsters at the end of the experience said only one thing… “Please can it be for two weeks next year!”
