Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating produces a very even type of heat that warms a room thoroughly whilst eliminating hot and cold spots. A conventional heating system, using radiators, produces and loses heat very quickly into the air meaning that the room has to be heated from the ceiling downwards, making it a less efficient and more expensive method of heating.

At Fairfax we install underfloor heating in all houses to ensure maximum comfort at minimum running cost and environmental impact.

Underfloor heating uses water heated to a lower temperature than conventional water central heating (typically 50°C rather than 60°C) This lower operating temperature makes it ideally suited when used in conjunction with a geothermal heat pump, a feature that Fairfax install in all our homes.

The Fairfax Benefits

  • Comfort - Underfloor heating delivers a near perfect temperature profile between floor and ceiling due to a balanced combination of radiant and convected heat.
  • Running Costs - Underfloor heating can be up to 40% cheaper to run than a central heating system using radiators.
  • Control - Unlike conventional radiator systems, each room with underfloor heating is able to have its own thermostat which can be controlled independently, thus saving energy and money on running costs.
