Panelled timber doors

We make our doors to traditional designs using selected hardwoods and softwoods. They are constructed using wedged, mortise and tenon joints with fully moulded panels and rails. We fit solid brass handles, hinges, locks and latches to our doors.

Natural, solid stone flooring

We use Artisans solid limestone flooring on the ground floor of our houses and throughout our bathrooms. Downstairs we have the stone hand-worked and finished to leave an open grain and beautiful patina. In the bathrooms we have it perfectly honed for that luxurious feel under foot.

Oak floor boards

Our oak floors are carefully chosen and laid to work in harmony with our under-floor heating systems. They are hand-polished with hard wax oil which produces an authentic and beautiful finish on the boards.

Limestone fireplaces

When it comes to fireplaces, our choice is solid limestone. Combining Chesney’s classical designs and craftsmanship, these beautiful pieces really set the focus. We use reeded cast iron side and back panels and slate hearths, to complete a fabulous look.

Oak staircase

A staircase should be as beautiful to look at as it is practical. A Fairfax staircase is designed to reflect the individual character of the house it serves. Be it grand or elegant, they are always classically designed and typically hand crafted from solid oak, producing a truly unique feature.

Mark Wilkinson kitchen

Since inception in 1976 Mark Wilkinson Furniture has been creating outstanding kitchens and is known for bringing precision furniture-making detail to kitchen and cabinet design. Using the highest quality materials, each kitchen is individually designed for the house and can be tailored to a client’s precise requirements.

Hand-made clay bricks

We only use hand-made clay bricks when building our houses, usually from the Michelmersh brick company. The clay is dug from pits right next to the works where it is hand-thrown into moulds and fired in a traditional kiln to form the distinctive and unmistakable bricks that typify a beautiful country house.

Hand-made clay roofing tiles

We use Keymer hand-made roofing tiles made from Wealden clay. The tiles are hand-moulded and fired in the same way they have been since the 1700’s. The finish we achieve with these tiles is perfectly fitting and cannot be replicated with cheaper, alternative products.

Natural stone detailing

We often use stone features on the outside of our houses, such as window sills, door surrounds, porches or string courses. Our stonemasons carve and finish these features by hand, using solid, natural stone. We never use re-constituted stone, ensuring the look and feel we achieve is second to none.

Traditional sliding sash windows

Our windows are designed and made to a traditional sliding sash design. We use sash cords and lead weights along with solid brass sash fittings and pulls to produce beautifully authentic windows that are synonymous with a classically built country house.

Bespoke security systems throughout

When it comes to security, we take things very seriously. The intruder systems we install have a security rating grade of ‘3’ in the European alarm standards. This means that the specification and level of equipment fitted exceeds any that would normally be fitted in a domestic property. When combined with security lighting and a video entry system, you can be assured that you and your house are extremely safe indeed.
