BUILDING
SUSTAINABILITY
At Fairfax Properties we believe in the importance of beautiful homes which are environmentally friendly and sustainable. We pride ourselves on producing homes that comply with the requirements of the prevailing Building Regulations and the Code for Sustainable Homes.
Environmental issues are becoming increasingly important and there is an associated increase in public awareness. There is however, less awareness of the contribution that good building design can make in reducing pollution and improving the environment. Scientific evidence shows that climate change resulting from carbon dioxide emissions associated with energy use is both real and already underway. Building sustainable homes requires us to minimise all sorts of environmental impacts in addition to carbon dioxide emissions, such as water use, waste generated, and material types used for building. The introduction of The Code for Sustainable Homes provides a comprehensive measure of the sustainability of new homes, ensuring that sustainable homes deliver real improvements in key areas.
Fairfax Properties are committed to achieving a level no less than code level three compliance in relation to all new houses we build. This means that not only will the property built have a significantly reduced impact on the environment, but it will also be around 25% more energy efficient for the owner.
